Craig J. Mohnacky, a native of Ohio, graduated from The Ohio State School of Veterinary Medicine in 1980 and immediately moved to California for his first job in SanDiego. He and his wife, Rose, started their first small animal practice in Encinitas in 1981, and over the last 36 years, have had ownership interests in six veterinary practices in North San Diego County. Dr. Mohnacky presently owns and operates three North County locations with a staff of 50 employees. He is founder of the Helping Paws Foundation which is a not-for-profit organization in support of our active, retired and disabled military families living in San Diego. Since October 2013, Helping Paws has performed over 2000 surgeries at no cost for military family pets. His greatest joy is giving back to the community.
Dr. Mohnacky and his wife, Rose, live in the North County and have two sons, Mark and Andrew, a daughter-in-law, Dina, and one granddaughter, Makenna. Last year Rose received a puppy for her birthday, a Cavachon named Clover Leaf who joined Pebbles (a Morkie) in the Mohnacky household. He feels deeply about the human/animal bond and his Helping Paws Foundation is a reflection of this commitment; keeping military families united with their pets.
Dr Mohnacky also established Mohnacky Learning Systems, a program helping and facilitating others in the area of leadership, accountability training, and business development. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, water skiing and wakeboarding with his family and friends.
